Navigation

The course to the Fjord goes through the dug channel over Tudsehage.

From the South eastern corner of Skælskør Red the inlet to the Fjord is moved in between 2 stone piers and further along East-side of the Western pier.

During the day the floating signs at Gedehave leads you through the channel to the place where the inlet begins todivert towards East. During nighttime the lighthouse on the floating signs will give you instructions. The channel to the harbor continues through the deepened inlet over Skælskør Outer- and innerfjord.

The very narrow inlet through the Fjord is not lighten by a lighthouse. The depth of the inlet is very low, so the marking of the inlet schould be highly resoected. Guest boats over 12 meters schould for the sake of the assigned place at the port, contact the office at the port before arrival on phone nr. +45 58 19 42 04.

Floating signs

Gedehave Back- and Front signs lead you in the right direction ( 156 ) through the dug channel over Tudsehave.

Back sign: White mast with red and white striped triangle with downturned top. Front sign: White mast with red and white striped triangle with upturned top.

Lighthouse

Gede Back- and Front lighthouse shows red, steady light. The lighthouses leads you in the right direction ( 156 ) through the dug channel over Tudsehage.

Speed Limit

The deepened inlet schould be crossed with very low speed. 3 knots at the crossing of Vasebro in the Fjord.

Flow

The flow in the Fjord is very rough, partly caused by the inside underlyring Nor; In calm weather it changes regularly every 6 hours, and can sometimes go around 5 knots. In rough weather the flow can go the same way for a long time.

Waterlevel

The difference between medium high tide and medium low tidies 0.5 meters. Winds between Northwest and Northeast can give uptil 1.0 meter high tide, and winds between Southeast and Southwest uptil 0.6 low tide.
